This will be in bulletins for two weeks and also stated verbally at services. The group started to fill out the Congregation Analysis Profile (5 pages). Special inquiries need to be completed at next meeting.

PRE-CALL Meeting Report, April 29, 2009, 6:30 PM
About 60 members attended
Meeting was chaired by Elder Dan Martin in the absence of Ted Bartels.
Pastor Mangold's call status was changed from senior pastor to assistant pastor. This allows him to keep his insurance benefits. He remains on disability and will not be participating in any pastoral duties of the congregation. Should he recover to the point of being off disability, he will then be eligible for a call to another congregation.
The question was asked, "Who is our pastor?" The answer given by circuit counselor Pastor Engebretson is,"Pastor Steve Vaudt." Pastor Vaudt is scheduling the preaching and he will be responsble for covering sick and shut-in visits. Any questions relating to pastoral services should be addressed to him.
A call committee was established. This committee consists of President of the Congregation Ted Bartels, Treasurer Tom Haberstein, Trustee Ray Gavin, Ladies Aid Chairperson Jan Peil, Elder Dan Martin, Youth/Sunday School Rep. Cathy Lundgren, and Member-at-Large Judy Wanner.
The possibility of having a dual parish arrangement with St. Matthew, White Lake, with Steve Vaudt as Pastor of both congregations was brought up. Pastor Engebretson said that this would be a totally different arrangement and not be part of the call process. A special meeting would have to be held and discussions begun with the White Lake congregation for that to happen. As of now St. John is going ahead with the call process and the call committee will convene at a date to be dertermined to initiate the call process.
