DON’T THROW YOUR CHOICE DOLLARS IN THE TRASH!!! This year Thrivent Financial For Lutherans has started a new program called Thrivent Choice. Basically, you, the Thrivent member, chooses where your charitable dollars go. About thirty percent of Thrivent members have such dollars to designate. If you are one of these fortunate people, you will receive or already have received, a letter telling you how many dollars you are entitled to give. DO NOT THROW THIS LETTER AWAY thinking it’s junk mail. St. John Lutheran Church has signed up to be a recipient of Thrivent Choice Dollars. So, if you have choice dollars to spend, you can designate online or by phone where those dollars will go. At St. John, we have several ministries that can use your choice dollars: The general fund (to meet our budget needs), The St. John Youth, The St. John Ladies Aid, the Organ Fund, and the Christian Food Pantry. You will no doubt be solicited by groups who are recognized as recipients by Thrivent to give to them. Please prayerfully consider all these requests, but please do not fail to designate your choice dollars. When you designate your choice dollars to St. John, Townsend, please let the church office here know what organization within the church is to receive that gift. Otherwise the gift will go the general fund.
